I love  my Finnley.

She has so much enthusiasm for everything fun in life.
The other day I was at my sister's house. As I was preparing to leave, I put Finnley on her leash. Well, I suppose that I was taking a bit too long with my goodbye conversation. I guess that is when Finnley took that for, if mom is still talking, then why can't Ripley and I keep playing ? It was about that time that I decided that standing on her leash, while I zipped my jacket was a good idea. Unfortunately it was also the same moment that Finnley decided to jump in back of me, to let her cousin Ripley know she was ready to play again.
RIPLEY
The leash snapped the front of my shoe up, and bent the toe area back and Voilà !!
 Broken big toe... Ouch !
Moral of the story.
#1 - Don't put big dog on leash, and then not leave right away.
#2 - Don't stand on leash for whatever reason !
 and finally
#3 - Shut my big mouth and stop talking !!

OUCH, that's not good ! Is it back in place now ?

I guess those Doodles don't know their own strength. When Finnley decides to move, she feels like 100 pounds pulling me. She is just under 70. Goodness, it's all I can do some days when she sees a squirrel. I just started to make her wear a harness, that was after the toe incident,  and that has made such a difference. It's hard to believe she is the same dog. I used the pinch collar a few times, but I had great guilt, and felt that everyone who saw her was judging me.

Thank you to everyone of you who sent me your warm wishes.

((♥)) Hugs to all of you !

Which harness do you use?

Gosh, Ann, I don't know what it is. I do know that she can step right into it and it goes around the middle of her chest in the front and also under. I think she is very comfortable in it. It has some padding on the under part. I do know that I got it in black, so if I photograph her when she is wearing it, It will be a snap to photoshop out ! :)

Oh, so sorry.  I got your advice!  I am guilty of standing on a leash when my hands are full and Clancy is certainly big enough to 'get' me.

Feel better Sheila!  Not much you can do for a broken toe but hopefully it will heal quickly.  I have just decided to never stand on a leash that is attached to a dog......

Haha, ONLY with steel toed boots Robin !

I love my prong collars. They often are invisible under fur. No one has ever said boo and I wouldn't give a fig newton if they did. Will "they" come and take care of us if I go down in a heap? I would feel guilty for not using them.

I'm sure I will be using mine again, after Finnley's fur grows back F. It really looks almost medieval tortuous on her new skinny neck ! :) I know she knows business when it is on though.

You could put a bandana over it.
