I am hoping that someone can remember if we had a discussion about dogs having honey...Oliver loves carrots, cooked that is, and tonight I gave him two of the ones I was making for dinner for us. They are the baby carrots, that I steam and just add a little honey to give it the taste we like. After I gave it to him, I kind of freaked because somewhere in the back of my brain, I think we said something about honey and dogs..He seems fine, infact he wanted more, but I am holding off until I get the experts opinions from here.  Karen if u are there and online, I would love to hear from you, or anyone that has the answer I need..Thanks..Cheryl

I always mean to but that, but forget, just put it on my shopping list for this week, thanks!!!

I like honey but it's sugar so won't be giving it to my two. I presume it rots dogs teeth same as human ones. Anyway we have a Bee man who provides local honey which I like on my oats in the morning and I sometimes use it in Tzimmis which is slow slow roasted carrots and brisket and also on lamb shank, again very slow roast over root vegetables with rosemary and garlic. So it's honey for cooking and humans and not for the boys no matter what that article says LOL

Nicky, my grandmother and my mother used to make a Tzimmis every friday night for shabbat dinner, I know that well, and it is delicious.  Thanks for the great memory...

My dogs favorite treat for the day is raw baby carrots, they take them over any treat.

Once upon a time I was advised to keep honey handy for my Maltese, tiny and prone to low glycemic - - however it was never used, apple was safer.

Agave, in my opinion, would be worse than honey and as bad or worse than sugar.
