My Intro!

First thanks for letting me join. I have found so many "groups" that just get totally offended with anyone doing anything with a "mixed" dog. Very discouraging. So this is my story. We have 3 poodle girls. Sarah a Parti poodle standard sweet as the dickens and very regal. She's the Queen Bee lol She just had her first littler of Goldendoodle puppies. We have 7 black babies and they are adorable! Marcie, apricot standard, she is our clown. We should have named her Lucy! She slides on the floors and tumbles all over. Ginger is our Chocolate girl. She has a sad story. Her owner was killed outside a Dr office and her baby stolen. It happened in Tx, some of  you may have read about it. Her mother took the dog but it was too painful so she sold her to be used to breed another type of doodle. Her new owners soon realized she was growing and growing and her legs were too long to breed with their little dog. She got stuck outside and ignored cause she couldn't breed. We paid thru the nose for her and had her flown from Ca to NC. When we got her she was skin and bones, dirty,scared and dying for attention. I was heart broken, not over the money, but that someone would treat her like that. :( Good news is she has settled in so well and is gaining weight by leaps and bounds!! She is our sweet Ginger. We also have a beautiful Golden Retriever named Baily. He is just a cuddly,loving gentle dog. He just runs and runs around the property and is the daddy of our new litter. Then we have a rescue Great Dane, he is 10, we got him when he was 2. He was in the pound and so ill my vet said he wouldn't last the night there. So she scooped him up took him home, treated him till he was well and we brought him home. He is our baby and he knows it! Then, yes there is more lol, I have 2 sheep dogs and raise Shetland sheep. So, it's a house full. Now I get to pick which little doodle I want to keep! I'm so excited. I want to learn as much as I can about them. After owning both the breeds that are the basis of these little guys, if they are anything like them, I will be thrilled! So we are semi retired, are hoping to sell a couple of litters a year for a couple of years and retire the girls. I want to replace my older dogs with doodles from my girls and boy. I may get a male poodle and have a little of poodles too, but at this  point that's just a thought. We have several acres and the dogs have a lot of area to cover, although they all live in the house and I'm tripping over them all the time. I love it!

Welcome. wow, quite a crew and lots of stories. You will enjoy DK. Please be aware that any postings about selling puppies belong in the Goldendoodles for Sale group. But we love stories about the dogs you own and are keeping. I lost cpount but I think you have quite a handful. Just taking care of all those dogs and sheep means you are not retired at all to me: )

Thanks! I'll remember that about the puppies but I honestly didn't come here to sell pups, they are only a week old  lol We have 7 dogs right now and will probably loose several in the next few years due to age. We have 10 sheep, I just sold 10 to a breeder so have cut that down for winter. I spin and weave so they are a "used" animal :) Looking forward to exploring the site!

I never thought that for a moment. I just wanted to give you heads up advice. You might also like to know that there is a group, Art Cafe, where folks post their artwork and I am sure your weaving would qualify.

What a wonderful little crew you have! Welcome to DK! That's so sweet that you've rescued all those pooches! It's always nice to hear when dogs wind up in loving "forever homes".

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I went exploring last night and joined groups! This is certainly a friendly group. I have been feeling a little gun shy as I got booted off a poodle list :( It took a bit of looking to find you :)
