We have had a pretty rough week between getting Polly spayed and home safely and my mom needing some serious hospital time that left us no choice but to put her into a rehab center last night. As I was signing paperwork this morning they commented that if there is a pet she is close to we could bring it to visit, does not have to be a therapy dog (which we would like to do with Meg anyway).

I just came home from an afternoon visit that I took Meg along for.  She walked in without being told how to behave, she moved slowly and quietly down the very long hall to my mom's room, alas no Oma when we got there.  We waited a bit (she was having her lunch) and decided to go to meet her.  Many people were using their walkers, canes and wheel chairs to get back to their favorite spots.  Meg sat nicely as each one approached, let them pet her head and move on before getting up, if they showed more interest she did a few tricks for them, hands down favorite was when she did a little prayer for them.  We waited at the corner for the aide to walk Oma out and she stayed put with a wildly waving tale on the floor when she saw her.  Loved her and walked her back to the room, when I went to put her in a sit by me she sideled her butt around to be by Oma and then rolled her head back across her lap before slumping down to sleep at her feet.

When we left all the orderlies and a few more guests stopped us and invited her back to maybe show off for a group.  I can not tell you how proud I am of that girl and how she behaved.

I say to myself one more time, "I would love for all the people that give away, toss away, or rehome these dogs to see what they really give up".  I am grateful they did so she is mine but what a loss for them.

So sorry to hear about your mom - I hope that all works out for your family in the best way possible.  But Meg has really been the definition of Doodle Love this week, both with Polly and your mom.  Such a good girl!  You must be bursting with pride, as well you should!  Good job Meg!!!

I love this!  These guys truly know how to put a smile on everyone's face.

My last Golden was a certified Therapy Dog.  I always said: " I was merely the Driver, and that he is the one who worked his magic on those in need".

Congrats Meg!  And gentle ((HUGS)) to you and your Mom.  A very difficult time, for sure.

So sorry to hear about your mother, hope all turns out as good as possible under the circumstances.

Your dear Meg, what an incredible doodle! I am so happy to hear the wonderful stories about your babies.
We are just beginning to see the sweetness of our Yogi who is eleven weeks now. I can't wait for his life to unfold.
Meg has sure set the bar high!
I just love hearing about Meg. She is such a wonderful dog. They do seem to know when
Someone is hurt, sad, or in need of some extra love. Y'all made a lot of people happy today.

I hope your mom recovers quickly. Hooray for Meg.

What a good girl Meg is!  Hope your mom is feeling better soon.

It seems that you already have a wonderful therapy dog.. Wonderful job Meg . I do hope that your Mom is doing  well.

That is twice this week that Meg has made me smile.  Sorry to hear about your mom - hopefully she does well in the facility.

Wonderful story Judy and your Meg is an angel!  Sorry about your Mom and hope things go well for her and you!

Great job, Polly!  And I LOVE hearing that you have an OMA!

Meg...wow...you are just the sweetest girl...such a caring, loving & gentle girl with everyone but especially Polly & your Oma!

Judy...so sorry to hear about your Mom having to go to the rehab centre...sending thoughts, prayers and doodle hugs your way!

I'm sorry to hear about your mom, Judy, and hope that everything goes well for her. It warms my heart to hear how Meg was able to brighten her day, and bring a little joy to the other residents as well. I'd say she's already a therapy dog, now she just needs the paper to prove it. :)

And thank you for that last paragraph. All of us who have adopted doodles that somebody else threw away share your sentiments.
