I understand from my breeder that my puppy (9 weeks) should not exceed aproximately 20 - 21 percent of protein in her diet for propper joint development, what she said to me made perfectly good sense. However, how come most kibble food for puppies hovers around or above the 27 percent range? I bought some Blue Buffalo in a rush and I'm thinking of taking it back to switch to something with less than 27 percent protein. To be honest with you, these dog food companies sketch me out, I might even try cooking my own food. Ideas, suggestions, comments, thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'm a new dog dad and trying to figure a million things out.
