Therapy Dog

I hope this is the right place to post this :) Has anyone ever had their dog certified as a therapy dog? We you like to get 2 of our girls certified to make hospital and nursing home visits and was hoping someone could point of in the right direction :)

You might also google Pet Therapy Certifications in you area or town. I had past Goldens who were Certified. They will have to pass a series of tests.

We are in the process now. Shea has his CGC and is now taking a refresher course for Top Dog and then he takes his Therapy Dog test in Dec. Shea has not been around cats and the gal that gives the test said the cat will be one of the distractions on the test. He does great with the wheel chairs and dropping bedpans,but a cat walks by and he breaks sit say and wants to play with the cat. The cats name is "MOUSE".

Thankfully, we had always had cats, so that wasn't a problem for us. Our "Chevy" had a hard time with the guy in the a Gorilla mask that jumped out and grabbed me. He did hold, but barely.
