Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have a 6 month old labradoodle. He has a significantly sized bald patch on one of his hindquarters. He frequently nibbles/bites himself at this spot, and that is why the hair is gone. He does not have fleas. The skin at the bald spot is not irritated in any way. Again, the skin looks normal and healthy. The rest of his coat is in great shape and no other issues. We love this puppy!

Any thoughts or advice are very appreciated.

Exactly Hectors problem too. Bald spit started on tail, as he grew and couldn't reach his tail the bald spot moved to his hips. No iritation. He bites himself less often now. Which could mean growing out of it or coincide with change in food. If you find an answer I will copy you!

Thank you. Have you ever tried bitter apple spray or gel? I just started using the spray today.

Does bitter apple work for your pup?  They offer a gel version that I've heard can help with stopping hot spots.  I have yet to try it but thought it might help :)

Just started using the spray today. Didn't know it came in a gel. Thank you.
