Yes, those little blood suckers are a real pain.  We have lots of them here and they hatch out after the first rains.  I make sure my dogs have Frontline Plus.  The ticks still get on them, but they die quickly.

Thanks Jill

Eeekkkk...... We need to spot treat ourselves......

I guess there is something good about living where there are no deer or woodchucks!

Nancy, I thought deer ticks were when you had deer too.  Of course, that would seem right.  Deer ticks are more related to mice

Well, actually when you have both.

Oh the combo? Mice and Deer?

The deer are the common host in part of the cycle for that tick. We just happen along.
I just found a gd tick creeping on the back of my hand right after putting gel on the fogs teeth. One on them probably had it on their head. I hate these things!

Oh my goodness, until I read Woodchucks carries these ticks I was relatively calm. The park we go to daily has 100's of Woodchucks!

I have never seen a tick on me, or Daisy for that matter, but OMD!

Wow, another thing to worry about. Thanks for posting.

The CDC states that there are 30 different diseases from ticks!
