Me again :-)

Griff is 10 months and has a new habit of biting at his leash near our hands as if to play tug of war while we're waking him.  Once he gets started it is *impossible* to get him calmed down. It is maddening!  My kids don't like walking him anymore for fear he'll do it.  It doesn't happen all the time but when it does we can literally get stuck 2 blocks from  home and it will take forever to get back.
Tips?

ok..I was bragging how Violet never bites at the leash and goes crazy ! well....since the snow here she is a wild pup most walks......she goes wild in the snow...unfortunatly we live in a townhome and do not have a yard she can go nuts in.......back to training for me !

We're in a townhouse too and it is so not right for a big pup like Griffin :-/ We've been looking for a house with a yard since before he even came home to us! Blah. Good luck with your training. We've done some inside since we can't outside in the ice...

Oh  My Goodness picturing the stare down and you having to carry him back made me giggle but I'm sure it wasn't funny to you at the time!

The "stick trick" helps us too - Griffin is obsessed with carrying sticks around.  And yes, as soon as it warms up a bit I plan to really amp up some walking training with my pockets full of kibble..

A few times we've had to carry Zoe too!  But a few minutes of that and she's starts squirming and says -no!, then she walks ok for a while. At 7 months, she seems to be sooo  much better with walking.  If anything we have to slow her roll a bit.   I hope it will end up just being an age thing....
