According to a recent study at Tufts, bully sticks contain 9 to 22 calories per inch.

wow thanks for the link. Im going to buy them in bulk as they get so pricey individually.
Never knew they were high calorie. One a week?
I know I'm a little late to the conversation, but I had wondered how they could charge so much money for a "junk" piece that would be thrown away normally. Growing up on a farm, our sheepdogs loved when it was time to band the calves and lambs. They would bring us tiny little lamb testicles, lamb tails, cattle testicles, and of course dig up any and all hooves from other pastures. Now i go to Pet stores and see bully sticks, antlers, and hooves. All of these are free to me if I make a quick trip home, but they would quite certainly add up in price were I to purchase them all! My mind was blown! Supply and Demand I suppose. On a positive note, our little George won't be here until January. Of course he already has half a dozen nice sized antlers, 8 hooves, and a few REAL cattle and lamb ears (on the way). All thanks to Grand"paw". :)
