Three Heartworm Positive Homeless Doodles Need Your Help!

DRC Heartworm Treatment Fundraiser

Doodle Rescue Collective has recently had a large intake of doodles in need of new homes. Three of them have tested positive for heartworm and need treatment to save their lives. Heartworm treatment is very expensive, ranging from about $800 to about $1500 per dog. It also requires the dog to remain in foster care for a period of 2 to 4 months. Paisley was pulled from death row. She was to be euthanized because she had heartworm. That is when our wonderful volunteers stepped in to save her. Paisley recently finished he last round of treatments, which will hopefully leave her heartworm free. In the mean time, we are still responsible for the costs of treatment. 

PAISLEY SAFE AND RELAXED IN FOSTER CARE:

Bailey was surrendered to DRC. Bailey spent the last 5 out of 7 years of his life chained outside. Bailey also tested positive for heartworm and will be starting his treatment this week. Bailey will need several rounds of treatment over an 8-10 week period. 

BAILEY IN HIS FOSTER HOME, LEARNING WHAT LIVING INDOORS AND LOVE ARE ALL ABOUT:

Dino was pulled from an over crowded, high kill shelter on December 16. After a lot of collaboration, we were able to locate a foster home for him to stay in while he completes his heartworm treatment. He will begin treatment in 30 days once his antibiotic is complete. He will then need several rounds of treatment over an 8-10 week period.

I'd already done my Christmas donation but we managed to squeeze out a little more. :>) It is such a small thing compared to what the volunteers and foster families do. Looking forward to seeing these babies healthy and happy in forever homes.
