Conway has bright pink ears and they seem to be warm to the thouch. Is this normal? When we brought him home almost 6 weeks ago he did have double ear infections. Since then we make sure they are cleaned once a week and when they get wet. We use ear cleaner that was reccomended by the vet.

The underside of my two doodles ear flaps are always warm and pink. Sniff the ear canals,if they are infected they smell bad.
Pink, but not bright pink. I was going to post a pic of Enzo's , but the pictures come out much brighter pink than they actually are.
I agree..a sniff test might help. If bacteria is present, you'll know it.
My thoughts are that if you don't like the look of the ears it's always a safe bet to go have them checked especially with any prior ear infection history. I know if I ever suspect a tiny hint I'm going back sooner than later. No cleaning or care will help the start of infection only antibiotics can stop infections.
Watch for other signs too: head tilt to one side, scratching - especially a gentle slow scratch, sensitive to the to touch, etc
Often my dog showed signs of infection long before I saw or smelled anything.
My doodle has had ear infections I did not smell.
I remember once, another dog would not leave Spuds ears alone. She just kept smelling them. Sure enough 10 days later the infection showed.
Many times the infections are difficult to treat completely and a month later the infection is back.
What I'm trying to say is if your dog has any history have them checked several times after a course of antibiotics.
We finally went every two weeks for awhile and that FINALLY did the trick. For the first time in his life we have gone 20 months with no infection.
Thanks for all your help. I don't believe Conway has an ear infection. He is acting fine and his ears do not have a smell to them. I will keep an eye on them for sure.
