Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
We had the bad news over Thanksgiving that Groucho Too has cancer of the liver. He had a cancerous cyst on his spleen that burst so they did a spleenectomy and had the spleen biopsied. It was cancer. They also saw nodes on his liver during the surgery. So....what to do? He has the stitches out tomorrow, so we have decided to tell the vet we want plenty of pain medication for him when he starts to be bad and we have decided to have him put down at home. There is a traveling vet who will come to the home to do this. There is also a pet crematorium in our little town who pick up corpses and take them for cremation. We will have him put down at home, cremated, and the ashes buried at home. We have even picked the area for his final resting spot. We are ready to lay our beautiful goldendoodle to rest.

Making good memories! Glad he is feeling good and enjoying himself.
I'm so sorry...I'm sure he had a wonderful life with you..
Update on Groucho Too - He is doing great. Staples are out, hair is growing back, incision looks great, and he is happy and active. We even took him for a walk and run with the bike today. It was just like old times. Beautiful day, sunny and warm, and happy dogs.
Such good news, Lynda.
So glad you and he are able to enjoy this precious time together
Lynda, that's just wonderful. It sounds like a happy day for all of you!
So glad he is feeling good enough to make more good memories. It's so devastating to hear about all the young doodles with terminal illnesses - it's not enough time! But I wish you and Groucho Too many, many more days of love and fun - doodle kisses from Libby Louise and me!
This is beautiful news Lynda.
So happy to hear that he is having really great days. Those are priceless! Wishing you many many more wonderful days together.
