DH loves Cesar Milan - we have been slowly introducing Samantha to the treadmill over the past 2 weeks for the exercise. She doesn't love it but at least she stopped running from it. I still have to keep 1 arm under her tail and the other under her front legs to keep her moving. DH sits in front and gives her cheese.

Anyone else using the treadmill for exercise or have any suggestions on how to make her more comfortabel with this?

I think I read that Janie's doodles use the treadmill...
thanks - I did a search but didn't see anything. I will ask her
I used treats to get Stella to stay up there on the tread mill at first. Check out the video on my page. They are not real good b/c they were taken with my phone but you'll see what I mean.
I tried to get each of my guys on the treadmill just to see if they would do it. The older one took to it immediately, the younger one wanted nothing to do with it. It just may not be for your girl. But keep trying to condition her, she may come around!
I really hope so
I have a treadmill and my dood seemed to be okay. I had to start with him just standing on it and feeding treats. The hardest part is starting the treadmill as I have to do it myself. I don't hold onto the dog since one of the things I picked up from Cesar Milan is that the brain needs to get engaged in the process so that the dog thinks I need to put my feet forward, etc. So I hold the leash (I actually tie it to the safety turn off switch,) feed treats occasionally, praise and think how I should be using the darn treadmill myself!
Samantha is getting better at it. I have to occaisonally give her 'lets go' to remind her to move her feet a little faster or she will fall off the back end. I looked into purchasing a 'doggy treadmill' but they are too expensive. So we will keep trying.
