Dogs and Magnetic Fields

I wonder if this is how  Lassie dogs and cats find their way back home (sometimes) from hundreds of miles away.  The most interesting part of the article for me was learning that people actually have jobs where they stand in a field and watch dogs do their business.  I wonder what their job title is...LOL

The job title is, "laughing at dogs pooping" people. My DD and I think pooping dogs are pretty hilarious.

LOL, it really can be pretty funny at times. I'm trying to find out where to send my resume, I have a lot of experience in this field of study. :)

About all I can conclude from this is my Banjo needs to learn to read a compass……it takes him FOREVER to find that N/S thingy!   : )

Carol I think Tara has lost her natural N/S thingy instincts. She just runs out in the yard, squats and runs back. I can't see much science in her technique.

I saw this recently, I thought here on DK, but anyway here is a fascinating video on a fox hunting under the snow. His success is far greater when he has the nothing magnetic field lined up.

Wow, F, that was amazing. Reminds me of a robin trying to locate a worm, wonder if they find more worms when they are lined up with the field.
