There is a rescue near our home in Pittsburgh called Animal Friends.  This is only our second new year here in this city and I found out that each year on New Year's Eve their volunteers go around to the shelters in the area and get the dogs and cats that are scheduled to be euthanized at the end of the year and rescue them.  This year they rescued over 20 dogs and over 30 cats.  I had never heard of this before and was very moved by it.  This link is a video they put together on this year's rescue.

Charlie will be starting classes next week at this rescue for their "therapet" program.  When finished he will be placed with various groups to do therapy work.  It isn't as formal as the TDI program but I think we will have a fun time doing it.  I am very impressed so far with this group.

What a remarkable organization, and one so deserving of support! Thank you for sharing this video! It's humbling and inspiring to see what these volunteers were doing in the snow on New Year's Eve.

Ditto.

Diana ~ Thank you for sharing this video.  Best wishes to you and Charlie as you start the therapet journey together.

Wow....what a wonderful thing this is!

This warms my heart…..thanks so much for sharing.    I've been feeling so sad for all the dogs who don't live up to their owner's expectations…..
