Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I think from a "breed" perspective they are very close. I would look for a great breeder who does all the important health testing and considers temperament as a key component of her breeding dog selections. A healthy Doodle with a calm temperament is what you really want to look for in my opinion. I should add that I have two Australian Labradoodles,
I have an Australian Labradoodle but I know (and love) plenty of golden doodles and I think they are very similar. In fact, our first vet had a golden doodle and when she first saw Finn, she was sure he was a golden doodle. Temperament and looks-wise, they could have been twins. I looked at 2 different litters of golden doodles before getting Finn --and again, very much the same. I ended up getting an ALD because I wanted a 35 -50 lb. doodle and I wanted a fleecy coat non shedding coat and that was more predictable with a mutigeneration doodle. But if I were to get a second doodle, either would be great! Finding a good breeder that puts health testing and temperament first is the most important decision. Good luck with whatever choice you make.
and I have a Rhode Island Labradoodle that looks just like an extra large version of Finnegan :) LOL Go for health testing and temperament first, like Cheryl said. Good luck!
I have one of each and love both of them to bits!! sorry I'm not much help !!
They are both wonderful dogs. We personally have a Goldendoodle, but have several friends who have Labradoodles. There really is not that much difference from our experience. Just do a lot of research on the breeder and pick the dog that has the best temperament. You will be happy and delighted with whatever doodle you decide upon...they are wonderful & loyal companions...Best of Luck in your search:)
