Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hello everyone!
I have been looking into getting a goldendoodle from Almond Blossom Doodles. Everyone in this group seems pleased with their experience. However, I have had trouble getting Julie/Shelly to answer my questions (I have been emailing them, should probably try calling).
I wanted to ask about your experience with their waitlist since they have not thoroughly explained it. From the information I have gotten, it seems that I have to make a deposit to be on some general waitlist. Then when they plan a litter, they will go through the waitlist in order, asking the people on it if they want a puppy from that litter.
They were unwilling to tell me how many people they currently have on their waitlist. This is troubling for me because I do not want to send them money to be on a waitlist that could be a mile long. I do not want to be waiting for a puppy for some indeterminable amount of time.
Any clarification or stories from personal experience is much appreciated!

I am answering just so you don't have the same experience with us that you had with Shelly and Julie! I have heard others say that they had trouble getting a response from them when they were very busy with puppies. I know they have at least one litter right now. Have you "liked" them on Facebook? They post pictures of the pups. I did not have communication troubles with Shelly when we got either of our dogs. While our daughter's Goldendoodle is from Tulip Tree (Shelly's daughter Ashley's kennel) he was in CA for us to meet him so all of our interactions were with Shelly.
We also weren't on a wait list so I can't help you with that either. Sorry.
I hope you are able to reach them soon.
They usually tell you right away what number you are in the litter. You know ahead who is the mom & dad. Maybe they were busy over xmas. Also you need to know what size you want BEFORE you are put on that certain list ( mini, medium, standard). We are very happy with our mini. She is only 14 lbs. She has a 25 & 30 lb. brother from the same litter. I guess the females tend to be smaller. They are very reputable breeders.
Hi Carre--I understand your frustration. I'm getting my second puppy from Almond Blossom and it can be a challenge getting the owners to respond in what we would consider a timely fashion. My experience had been that they don't mean to be rude--they're just not email kind of people and not business people. But I consider that to be a good thing. They spend their time caring for pups and their own families. It took them forever to even get on Facebook! From what I can tell from Facebook they currently have 4 litters that they will be trying to find homes for in Feb/March and then more this summer. I would not expect that it take you too long to get up to near the top of the list. It is well worth the wait. My first doodle has such a great temperament and they had already begun crate training which made potty training very easy. Clearly I was willing to put up with a little delayed communication since I'm now on the list for a second puppy. Hang in there-it's worth the wait!
Hi Carre,
I am sorry you have been confused with our deposit wait list. We have been very busy over the holiday season and new litters born! Please email us twosisters@almondblossompoodles.com for further discussion. We can not predict or gaurantee an exact number of safe puppy deliveries or even successful pregnancies. But try to give a very honest prediction on upcoming planned litters. We always contact our wait list as we have new confirmation or delivery info.
Please email us or we will be happy to talk with you on the phone.
Sincerely,
Almond Blossom Doodles
Carre,
I have a mini golden doodle from Almond Blossom and remain impressed by their breeding program and care for their pups. I was able to visit, play with pups, etc., and the premises were in immaculate condition. Chance came to me partially crate trained and health tested.
After I made my deposits, I was able to select the litter I wanted to choose from and told what my pick number was. I was 4 out of 7, and the pup I thought I wanted was still available. But another remaining pup managed to steal my heart on take home day, and that's the one I got.
My AB dood is the highlight of life! He is a great dog, companion and the bestest buddy EVER! I was #4, we went there to get a girl, ended up with an amazing boy. Echo is 3 and a 1/2 and for 2 years we have talked about getting him a buddy, because he is just the best dog ever. BTW, I researched goldendoodles for 3 years before we decided on Almond Blossom, my boy was worth the wait!
