What Will your Doodle Do if You've just come Back From a Doggy Area?
Just at the weekend, I went to a friend's house for 2 nights. Shadow stayed at home. They have an Italian Greyhound, a chocolate lab and were fostering a chiwawa for MADRA. When I came back, Shadow was UTTERLY HYPER and kept smelling me cause I'd been cuddling puppies for the weekend. So just in case that sort of thing happens….

I think most of the hyperness was due to your being away for 2 nights, and, with the added smells of the puppies, that probably sent Shadow into overdrive. It is perfectly normal, as long as he calms down and does not become aggressive.

If I go anywhere at all and come back, there will be much investigation on behalf of the canine's here. All shoes, pants and accessories will be sniffed - licked - and ogled. Even the cats get their noses twitching when I have strayed into another critter's territory.
If I were gone for two days my dogs would go nuts all over me when I got back - - oh how I love a warm welcome. Anything more than two hours and I get a welcome fit for the leader of the pack
