Whoa! What a day!

As all of you know California is having a drought and we need rain badly. Today in the Central Valley we finally got much needed rain and it did not stop all morning!  In fact, it poured for eight hours without stopping.  I found out one thing, I have a sissy on my hands and her name is Libby. I guess she does not remember what rain is since it has been so long.  She absolutely would not go out to do either of her jobs!  At first when we got up at 6:00 am we thought she will get over this and the next time she just looked at us like "why are you out here" and refused to go.  As the day goes on I even stood out in the middle of our yard (getting soaked) thinking she would go out if I did. She all the while is sitting under the patio watching me with a “head tilt”. Probably thinking, my mommy is crazy.  So now I am getting worried because she has not done anything since 10:00 pm last night.  Wow, I have a little princess on my hands.  The look on her face was "no way, no how"!  So once again we came in and she bounces in like she has done something so perfect and wanted a treat!  NOT  Finally at 2:00pm it stopped raining and we took her out and she did both and came in so proud!  She hates rain and will NOT go out in it! What would I do in the snow???  I see all of your Doodles back East having a wonderful time and our little girl is afraid to even get wet!  Do any of your Doodles refuse to go out in the rain?

I just love Vern and Fudge!  Maybe they can teach Libby how much fun it can be!  She is Princess Libby, believe me!

I have just the opposite.  Mine will go out and just stand and look around like nothing is going on.  Lucy will lay down and just watch the world go by, rain snow or sleet, she doesn't care.  Glad to hear you guys finally got some rain.

Thanks Sheri, this valley really needed it!  How nice they enjoy the rain, they too need to let Libby know all about it:)  For some reason I see AnnaBelle romping in it!

I must have a weird one. Riley loves rain and snow. She tries to catch it in her mouth as it falls. She also has to go potty in fresh snow. it cant be where we've walked. The snow is so deep her squat looks likes she is laying spread eagle on top of the snow. LOL. The only thing that will bring her in is extreme cold. She tries to balance on one front paw and one back when it is really cold. That's funny as well. Helps to lighten my mood as she takes forever to go while I stand there and freeze.

OMGosh Christy that picture is adorable and wow, that is a lot of snow.  Sounds like Riley engages all the weather!  How nice for you, well sometimes!  Maybe it gets a little wet and cold for you to be out there with her.  LOL

I have an 80 lb wuss by the name of Jackdoodle who will not go out in the rain for love, money or roast chicken. No way, no how.

Finn loves the snow but hates the rain.  Now that the snow is frozen on top and wet when he breaks through, he's not happy about the snow either.  "Really, do I have to go out again?"

Cheryl, I am amazed how many Doodles do not like the rain.  I was thinking I had a spoiled little girl here today!  Well, she might be a tad bit spoiled anyway!  LOL

Oh Lonnie! I'm sure you are right that Libby just does not know what to do with rain since she has had so little experience with it. We have had dogs that refuse to go out in the rain and one who would hop over puddles (we also had one that would seek puddles out at every opportunity). It's so funny how quirky they are.  Bonnie, that is a great name for her!  Love it!  When I told my DH he just laughed and said "how true":)   It is so funny how some Doodles love it and others hate it!  I can't say "rain, rain, go away" because we NEED it so badly, so Mis Prissy Paws will just have to toughen up!  LOL
