It seems like dark apricot-red doodles can tend to lighten over time as they get older, what do you think about our Daisy? She will be 12 weeks tomorrow and is still pretty red!

Her coat and coloring may change multiple times before she is a yr old. But usually, the color of the ears is a good indication.. BUT, it's really anyone's guess. One thing for sure...she is a really cutie!

That is what I have heard! Daisy says thank you!

our doodle Sophie looked like yours when she was little. take a look at her photos as she aged. do you know what color the parents were and which was poodle, doodle, retriever. Sophie's dad was her red color and her mom was a chocolate poodle.

Hi Bob! I love Sophie's color she is gorgeous, I would be very happy if Daisy turned out to be that color! Her mom is the red f1 doodle below and her dad is the white/apricot poodle so they are both really interesting colors. She has already lightened up a bit in the last month or so.

Highly unlikely that she will stay that dark.  Ned's ears, tail and eyelashes were pretty dark as a pup with the rest of him apricot.  His red faded until it blended in with the apricot and then it all faded a bit more.  The exception for him are his eyelashes which are still dark 'orange.'  Puppy coloring:5 year old coloring:

Oh wow so his ears totally lightened! I think where Daisy is red all over I would be surprised if she becomes totally apricot but we shall see! Thanks for the pics!
