Omg...Gracie would stay outside forever if I would let her.  She likes to go outside and sleep on the porch even when it is like 5 degrees out.  I literally have to make her come in.  Gracie has a very thick coat so I realize she might want to cool off after playing but gosh she loves the cold.  I have turned the heat down in the house as much as possible without the rest of us freezing. lol.  Anyone else have this with their doodle?  I know she will have to have a short cut for the summer for sure.

We live in Texas so we usually don't have really hard winters or extended cold weather. It was 77 degrees Saturday and 23 on Sunday with sleet and snow. Gibbs keeps ringing his poochie bells to go outside, I know he doesn't need to potty he just wants to run and play in the snow and ice. I'm letting him stay out for about 20 minutes and then make him come in a warm up LOL. His feet are really cold.

When it was 20 below Dory didn't seem too thrilled, but any warmer than that and she could play all day.  The only thing that stops her is snow/ice getting stuck between her pads.

In Wisconsin we have both temperature extremes and last summer she was none to happy any time it hit 85 or warmer.  I hate air conditioning, but I turn it on for her.

I have a small pair of grooming scissors with rounded tips and I keep those hairs between the pads trimmed short.  This week will be challenging though.  We have 6 feet of snow and the temperature is going to climb dramatically.  When the snow is wet and sticky, Yarrow can hardly walk for all the snow balls clinging to her legs.

My doodle loves the snow and cold as well - she loves to lay in it and roll around.  But she gets to a point where her paws get cold and she starts holding them up like she is injured - its pitiful but so cute.

We live in So Ca. so it has not gotten that cold this season.  Our mornings can be in the 30s, but quickly warm up.  Enzo has been with us since 8 weeks in July.  As far as we can tell, she loves the coolness!  Always sprawled out on the cement patio or marble flooring.  She'll go lie in her bed and it lasts for just minutes, before she is right back on the cool floor.  Rarely lies on the rugs.  Even in her kennel, I had a nice comfy pad in there, and she pulls it all up and prefers to lie on the bare crate bottom.  I guess these Doods of ours are "hot blooded"!  ;)

We live in NorCal, and same experience - on very warm days Zoe is very lethargic and only wants to walk/play morning and evening.  So far it has not been cold enough here for her to care (we'll occasionally hit high 20's).  She's always seeking out our cool tile floor even when I'm chilly.  We've been wanting to take her to the snow, but with the drought it's been dismal this year - Maybe next year!.

Hurley is a water dog and doesn't care how cold it is if there is a pool and he can get to it he is in it.  We do not give him a short cut in summer.  We have a small pond with a water fall in the back yard and to accommodate Hurley's desire to at least get in it and soak when he is hot we are having it made deeper, larger and more ideal for Hurley.  The things we do for our doodles.

That's awesome! Hurley is a very lucky boy.
