It's been almost 2 days since Maggie surgery and she's still so tired acting, she's constantly laying down and asleep, her site looks fantastic and she has normal stool, appetite, no aggression or moodiness, and is drinking water. I guess it just freaks me out that she's being so chill, she's typically sooo high strung. Jace bounced back to normal the day he got home. But he surgery wasn't as big of a deal, also should I not let her jump on the bed or go up and down the stairs?

She should absolutely not be jumping on or off the bed, or doing any kind of jumping. Not sure about the stairs, it depends how big she is and how much physical strain/effort is involved.

Two days is not a lot of time after major surgery. Spay surgery is simple surgery, but it's still a major operation. I think it's natural that she would feel tired. Eating, drinking, normal digestion and normal mood are all good signs. I think she'll be more like herself with each passing day. :)

Ellie was quite tired for 2-3 days afterwards...it takes a while for all the anaesthetic to get out of their systems...as well as the pain medication they are given...it all contributes to it...she will be more like herself in a day or so...it's a blessing in disguise really as it allows them the time it needs for them to heal properly...and like Karen said no jumping on or off the bed for awhile...we carried Ellie up our stairs, but we have 14 of them...good luck...sending well wishes for a speedy recovery sweet Maggie!

Thanks you all it makes me feel better that the sleepiness is normal. We have quiet a few stairs but she's been really timid about them and she's jumped on our bed a couple of times when I wasn't watching closely but I've picked her up most of the time.
