Hey guys, I recently posted about something similar to this so forgive me for repeating some things.

I brought Kona home on Saturday and when I went to pick her up, I had seven puppies to choose from. Kona appeared to be one of the calmer ones - and I held her for a good little while and she seemed to be a good fit.

I researched for months before bringing Kona home and was well prepared for all that would come along with a new puppy.

Kona is just so crazy. She doesn't stop for one second, it is constant running, biting, chewing, jumping, barking, you get the idea. When I try to approach her, she bites me everywhere she can get ahold of - my toes, my legs, the sleeves of my sweatshirt, my bracelet, my hair, etc. She doesn't even stop for a nap unless I put her in her crate (and that is a challenge).

I know that around this age is when puppies form their initial bond with their owners, and Kona seems to have no interest in me. It is really breaking my heart. I know she is still very young and has a lot of maturing to do, but at this moment, I'm just discouraged. Don't get me wrong, I love her and plan on doing everything possible to train her and give her the best life possible.

I will be starting her in obedience classes as soon as she's had all of her shots. I hope that helps a bit. Outside of how rambunctious she is, I'm concerned that she just doesn't like me/want to be near me.

I'm just not sure what to do right now, to help both Kona and myself get through this rough patch.

LOL - will never again stress over a stolen sock & the never ending sticks that Jewel sneaks in the house!

Sounds *just* like Zoe. She loves socks, mine in particular.  And constantly brings in sticks, pine cones, rocks - anything from the backyard!

We visited my in-laws recently with Zoe and I had changed into more casual clothes, and casually tossed my bra on my suitcase.  About 5 minutes later Zoe comes prancing into the front room with *all* of my in-laws with my bra in her mouth.  Won't live that one down anytime soon...

That story made me laugh! :-)

LOL! That would have made a great photo for this months photography assignment which is unique perspectives! Bless your heart

Cheeky monkey!

Kelly hahaha! It was a raw potato, I was peeling potatoes, and he stole one right out of the bag! Max also loves socks but my daughter's are his favourite.

You guys are too funny, lol!

They have great long leads to do this without risking her getting out

I am so sorry.  Our Springer was a wild child puppy.  It was like the puppy we thought we got, left asap and we were left with a crazy, hyperactive, whirling dervish. He outgrew all of this wild child puppy stuff and is the sweetest tempered dog who loves his people.  He happens to have an anxiety disorder but that was not why he was wild and crazy.  Hang in there.

Thank you so much, I appreciate it!!

Ugh, seems as though things are just getting worse with each passing day :( I talked to the breeder and she said that Kona was not like this with her and that she was one of the calmest puppies in the litter. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

She looks at me like she hates me and doesn't want me anywhere near her.

Lauren she doesn't hate you, I really think it's mostly an exercise issue, she is frustrated, and has pent up energy, please don't be discouraged. :(

She would have been calmer at the breeders because she had plenty of time to play with her litter mates and get rid of that puppy energy.
