I agree. 16 hours would be nothing for JD.
Phew! That makes me feel better. I'm so used to her going all the time as a puppy that this is new. So blessed to have you guys to run this stuff by. Thank you!!!
Even though he is a small dood, Ned has a bladder of steel.
Same here, Journey has a bladder capacity that boggles my mind.
My Molly definitely has a better bladder than I do. :)
I have nothing to contribute to this thread except to thank you guys for the ray of hope that little Jedi, my 8wk pup, could someday NOT be dragging me outside in the middle of the night!
Yes, it will get better! It wasn't long ago we were in your shoes. My husband was so sweet and did night shifts with Riley so he was a zombie for weeks. It was huge relief when she started signaling that she had to go out rather than following her around praying her butt wouldn't drop out of the blue. LOL We were spoiled because she only had a few accidents in the house. I think part was because she is a really good puppy, part was because we were so regimented about taking her out ALL the time and part was because we got her in the summer so we spent most of our time outside to avoid accidents inside. Take lots of pictures now because he will grow fast!
I always worry so much about Libby needing to go out every few hours, but when the weather is bad (rain, specifically), she becomes a Cameldoodle and can hold it for as long as it takes to stop raining. I agree - just watch her to see if anything else is different.
My Bailey can go forever without peeing also. However, I have taught her to pee on command if I really need to be sure she is "empty" when we need to be gone for an extended time.
Nice work Gail. We also trained Racy to go on command and when she is done then she sits. This makes it a lot easier when we are going somewhere.
