Is my puppy a Flat Coat Goldendoodle?

I recently adopted a male Goldendoodle puppy who was born 01-08-14 my husband and I found him at a Pet Store that i know is actually a good one where my parents adopted one of their dogs as well. any way there were 3 goldendoodle puppies all born on the same day there the other 2 had longer and more wavy hair and were a little more redish. ours has very short more like a golden retrievers coat, I was just wanting to check to see what you all think about my puppy?

I'm not sure whether he will be flat coated or not, they go through so many changes but OMD, he has the biggest, most beautiful eyes!  He looks so cuddly!!!!  Have fun!

Trust me I understand all of your concerns about pet stores and I am not usually in any way a fan or support pet stores though I do personally know the owner it is a family owned pet store and he doesn't get his puppies from puppy mills otherwise I wouldn't have even considered getting my puppy. But that being said my little Luke's face got my attention and I couldn't say no it did take me almost a week to convince my husband though but in the end he caves and knew we had to have him I'm taking him to the vet this evening to have everything checked out and then plan to start puppy training this coming weekend.

He is adorable.  Have you given him a name yet?  He looks like he might lean to the retriever side, but those rascals can surprise you. Even if he doesn't "poodle out" I doubt you'd be dissapointed very long, he looks like a best buddy forever. BBF.  :)  
It is true as you acknowledged that pet stores can be cause for concern,  I'm so glad to hear that your friends aren't contributing to that travesty.

Luke is absolutely adorable!!! There are a variety of groups on DoodleKisses. You should look at the group called Where is the Poodle in my Doodle? There is another called From Pup to Adult. You will see photos of the smoother coated dogs in the Where's the Poodle group and see the way puppies grow up into their coats in the other. I know you will love this little one to bits for years and years to come. Congratulations!

He is precious. I especially love the picture of him relaxing over your shoulder. Doodles can change a lot before they are done growing, but it does look like your little one might resemble his golden parent more than the poodle one.

He is so darn cute! The mysterious coat change has many a Doodle owner wondering when they are puppies. There is a great group called From Pup to Adult that shows pictures of members dogs when they were puppies and then when they are older. Darwin's pictures post his journey from puppy to several years old & are really neat to check out. Best wishes :) and congrats!

He's so cute! I miss that fuzzy puppy coat. My F1 golden doodle is 4.5 months old whose coat looked very similar to Luke's at that age. I though he was going to have a flat coat but now he is getting facial furnishings including beard, eyebrows, that chrysthanthemum hair on the bridge of his nose, and sideburns on his cheeks. His coat went from puffy straight puppy fur to short, coarse, flat waves to now fluffy longer, soft curly waves. He's still soft, straight and silky on his belly and lower legs. Not sure what will happen next- he won't be wooly/curly like a poodle, but he may doodle out more than I thought. We think he's an absolute love.
