Yesterday my 6 month GD ate a baby wipe. The vet said he would be fine. Last night about 3 AM he was whimpering to go outside to do his stuff. He has puddle poop. I know it is most likely from the soapy ingredients of the baby wipe. I've never given him pumpkin but I've read on this site that it would help. He still has puddle poop but alls I have is just Libby's pumpkin. I've read to use organic, but I want to help relieve his discomfort. Can I give him the Libby's? AND how much? Thanks in advance!

No advice, but sorry to hear this for you, I'm sure it was scary....

I typically give Dougie Libby 100% Pure pumpkin and it has always helped.  I am not sure if it is on the approved list.  I sure hope he feels better soon.

There's no reason you have to use organic pumpkin, plain canned pumpkin of any brand is just fine (not pie filling, though.)

However, the only reason that pumpkin helps with diarrhea is because it's high in fiber, and fiber is necessary for normal stool formation. Your pup's diarrhea is caused by the ingestion of the wipe, and it is doubtful that fiber is going to help that.

The big concern is that the wipe hasn't passed yet. As long as it sits in his GI tract, that's a big problem. Did the vet say anything about what you should do if it doesn't pass?

Karen meant pie filling : )

Oops. Let me correct that.

F. Calla & Luca-I had actually thought that was some strange brand of pumpkin lol. Thanks!
Thanks! I figured that regular pumpkin would be ok, but I was a little reluctant to just assume. It's a little unsettling that he has such awful diarreah, but he's still a happy pup : ). So that makes it better. I was actually very proud of him for holding it in and letting us know he had to go. He is not crated at night anymore but is confined in the kitchen area, so he could had chosen to take care of business... But maybe, just maybe I have a house trained pup! : )
She did not seem too concerned and therefore I wasn't. He had passed a sock that I had no idea he had ate. I was surprised to see it when I was picking up messes. I just assumed he'd have no problem with the wipe. It was only one that I used to wipe my daughter's hands with. When I saw the diarreah I thought that perhaps it has dissolved in his intestines and has manifest itself in diarreah. I will give my vet a call. Thanks! But just clarify - Do not give him the pumpkin?

Give him the pumpkin.

It isn't going to dissolve in his intestines, at least not any time soon. :)

I agree, give him the pumpkin, maybe the bulk will help it pass.

Ok, I will and thanks again!
Update: the baby wipe is out! Yay, I gave him the pumpkin (which he loved) and about 3 hours later he was able to get it out! Thanks all for your support and advise! Love this forum!
