We do a lot of our training with treats, I generally use their kibble as treats and they are happy with that.  We keep lots of treats to change it up, tricks are usually with dehydrated apple pieces.

My dogs would do a whole lot for food bribes, but I think if you rely on food for your commands, you are going to find yourself without a treat one of these days, and then . . . . . .
