Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Well, Yogi is now 7 1/2 months old he had been the very best puppy ever. I've wanted to get another doodle since I first thought about him.
DH said go for it this morning. So give me your best reasons I shouldn't do this. I thought I'd like to get one within the next 6 months so they will be near the same age and maybe also a little smaller like 25#'s. His mom and dad have been bred together again and due in another month or so.

Tell me why it's a bad idea ;-)
... Or if you must, why it's a good idea. Thanks!!!!!

Bonnie,
You guys are providing some excellent points. Yogi has several people who really want him over. I'm sure two would change that. What to do, what to do?
BG, good point about two dogs potentially not being welcomed. I can see that. We take Yogi to several friends and families home's. I see your point about there being two. Probably would not be as welcomed, and I probably wouldn't even want to ask.

And this is just NED.

Hilarious pictures!

These are riot Nancy!  I love you doodles!

The last action shot is priceless!

Ned I am sure can read but chooses not to. :)

Yogi you are just too cute with all that mud!

Double the poop. ;)

Double the muddy coats and paws, double the vet bills, double the food... :p

But.... double the fun.  I'd get a 2nd dog in a heartbeat if we didn't have a baby in the house!

I am no help, we have an "only" Doodle, I would love another one, DH not so much!   All the advice here sounds really good to me!  You can always rely on DK'ers!

Notice, I've kept my mouth shut on this one?????? :p
Why Rosemary? Now I need to know your 2cents...please?
LOL.......because I can't think of a valid reason, other than monetary or short of time/ devotion, to a newbie.
We've always had a multiple dog household. Losing the last two Seniors was extremely rough on us, especially since there was no canine shoulders to cry on. My kids tried to talk me onto a pup after we lost Dylan's mom, but at that point, I just didn't think it would be fair to my old guy. Like my husband said, Dylan breathed in the air I exhaled....he literally lived for ME. Bringing in a pup that would steal some of his my devoted time to him, just didn't seem right. To him or a new puppy.
The time and age has to be right, of course. We've considered another furbutt to pal around with Enzo, but, the time hasn't seemed right just yet. I'd like her a bit more mature and a bit more trained. Right now she is a Master of selective hearing. ;)
