My husband is near death, in hospice in our home. i think Chloe is picking up on my sadness, and seems depressed herself. She turned one, and used to be full of life. She won't even play at the dog park but just sits with me. Anyone have any experience with this?

Actually, Marie, it is truly a blessing that I have Chloe to think about. Because of her I HAVE to get out and go to the park! Whether she plays or not, I am sitting in the sun looking at the trees leaf out, and blossoms everywhere. It reminds me that life will go on, though at the moment, it doesn't feel like it, or sometimes that I even want it to.
My husband passed away on March 26th. Thankfully, Chloe seems to be back to her sweet happy self. I've lost my best friend, but with family close by and a puppy and 4 year old granddaughter who need plenty of attention and play time, I'll be okay. Thank you, everyone for your kind replies, and prayers.
I know you expected this but it is still so difficult. I am glad you have a good support system.

Lynn, thank you for letting us know.  I can't even imagine your loss, but I'm so happy that you can see that you will be ok in time.  I'm glad Chloe is happier - I know she will help you through this sad time!

Lynn I am so sorry for your loss.

I am so very sorry for your loss. And thankful you have a strong support group that includes your granddaughter and puppy. ((HUGS))
Lynn you are in my thoughts and prayers. So sorry for your loss, many hugs. Your granddaughter must be quite a delight as is your puppy. Would love to see pictures of both :) You take care.
These are my girls!

Lynn, they are beautiful. I've embedded the picture for everyone below:

What beauties.
Thank you, Stephanie, I don't know how to embed.

My pleasure. I hope Chloe brings you as much comfort and joy as Ragley has brought me.
