It is time to look for new collars for the girls.  I saw some beautiful braided kangaroo martingales but the lady that makes them is struggling with hand issues and no longer making them.  Looking for suggestions from those of you that love your collars.  I flat collar on Polly makes a mess of her neck hair so I thought braded leather or maybe even rolled leather...suggestions?

I got an embroidered leather collar for Charlie more than a year ago. It is pink with purple embroidery. It still looks brand new. Charlie is very curly and it doesn't mat her fur. I like it because you don't have to use additional tags. I have the dog's name and my cell # right on the collar. I got it from Hot Dog Collars.

While shopping for a waterproof collar, I came upon Mimi Green:

I just ordered the engraved oilcloth. A bit pricey, but cute!

Our doodles mat around the collar area with anything but a rolled leather collar from any pet store:

or a water collar from Hot Dogs All Dressed with these very cool decorations you custom choose.

Other collars slide up and down rubbing the hair into mats.

We have always used a rolled leather collar from Petco with Daisy and I have yet to find a single snarl or matt around her neck area! I think the most we've paid is like 12 dollars for the medium sized. It also hasn't left an indent in her fur. When I take it off it's as if she never had it on, we've been very happy with these collars!

My dogs are wearing Lupine collars - flat - but never had trouble with matting.  I like that they are so colorful and have many fun/colorful patterns with leads to match - although I don't much like the leads.  We have used rolled leather previously for GSD's .
