We got our puppy neutered 6 days ago, and decided this morning the cone had to go. We kept it on at all times since his surgery, and his incision is looking really good (just a little tiny scab, no more bruising or swelling)... Has anyone else freed their furry baby of the cone of shame before the recommended full week?

Max literally ate half his cone off on day two so it had to go, but he had a laser treatment for healing, which helped it heal up fast, and he just didn't bother with the incision at all.
Yes, two weeks ago my little guy was neutered and I took the cone off on day 5 because he was doing fine. I did not let him have outdoor time off lead though, still waited to let him have running & jumping.
I did not use one either - I think your dood will do fine. Just keep an eye as others have said.
Coop's cone came off the night he got home (or should I say the wee hours of the morning) after I realized he could reach around it and I couldn't take the crying anymore. No more licking than normal, so I didn't bother finding a new one.
Thanks everyone! About 36 hours in and it looks really good. Also... he just looks sooooo happy! The cone had made his leash walking regress a little bit so it's nice to be able to walk him without feeling like he's going to dislocate my shoulder all the time, especially considering I'm 9 months pregnant!
Oh my! Please be careful!!!!!
Bentley & Porsche never bothered their incision sites so we never used a cone of any type. Maserati is not yet neutered so we will have to wait and see if he will need one. With that being said, yes, I think you are just fine to have taken it off early if he isn't bothering it.
