flea and tick prevention

Has anyone had any experience with using Nexguard for warding off those nasty fleas and ticks?  We currently use a topical treatment called Vectra. It works well, but we would like to get away from using a topical treatment.

As much as we would like to go without any toxins at all for our pets, we have not had enough consistent success going with out it.

Any suggestions or advice is appreciated.

Thank-you Karen.  I will have to give this some thought do some more research.  Not enough data yet.

This season I tried the Seresto collar. It is by far the best thing I've tried for ticks. It is a bit expensive but lasts for 8mo. Since I put it on Charlie I have not seen one tick. When she was on Advantix she got at least 2-3 every week. I can't speak to how it is for fleas, I don't think they are very common here.
