Tick False Alarm

Quincy had numerous "bumps" on her back neck which we at first thought were ticks.  I just could not get a good look but what I would see was more like scabs.  Poor baby, I tried pulling one out the way you do a tick and it just was not working and didn't seem like the usual relatively easy pull I have done on ticks.  Of course this was over the holiday weekend. 

I took him to the vet today and they are scabs- They are small, not deep but he gave him an antibiotic injection anyway.  

The scabs are along the area where I put the tick liquid.  Vet did not think so, he thought irritation but then when I mentioned dog day care we figured that nipping by another dog(s) might be the culprit.  

Has anyone else ever seen anything like this?

Lily has had scabs like this before. Hers have always been from playing rough with other dogs. Sometimes on the neck. Puppies always like to pull on her ears so sometimes she has little scabs on her ears. I normally don't even notice them until they fall off and are stuck in her hair. They are pretty small so they are hard to notice.

I have no idea but I hope it is just from other dogs nipping and goes away, never to return.
