Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Thanks everyone who joined Adina & I for the live dog training webinar!  A very special thanks to our trainer Doggy Dan for sharing so much good stuff.  Adina is off to put the kids to bed so I'll wrap this up.

What did you think?

Again, thank you!  We know it's not easy to free up an evening on a holiday weekend.  :-)

We're sorry we couldn't address every question you guys asked in chat.  You had some great questions and we just couldn't get to them all.

What I really like about Dan since getting to know him is that NOTHING is off limits.  He doesn't hold anything back and say "You have to subscribe to my website to get that answer."  Nope.  He will give you the best answer he possibly can every time.  And tonight he laid out his method.  As you saw, he is passionate about the transformations that take place in our dogs when WE are the pack leaders.  He has shown that the basis of solving every problem is being the pack leader and the trusting relationship with our dogs that comes from that.

I thought the content was killer.  The production values?  Not so much.  But I really don't care too much that Adina and I were in our garage (really!) and Dan was in his spare bedroom.  This was about answering your questions and giving you as much value as we possibly could.  I think we did that in spades.  Could we cover everything in an hour?  Nope.

And that's why Dan's video site is so helpful.  You can try it out for $1 and watch over 250 videos on all aspects of dog training.  Dan is a full time trainer and has run across most every problem you can imagine.  The best part is he has taped his interaction with these dogs and given us the solution to solve them for ourselves.

So check out his website.  He has given DK members a $1 trial and then $10 off.  This offer is only good until Wednesday night.  Thanks Dan!

Thanks so much for this Adina and Clark.  I just watched the replay and have signed up to Doggy Dan's site.  Now I understand why Yarrow's eating style is grazing.  Knowing 'the game' will change things.  By the way, she also has a load of bones laying about the yard.  I feel certain that having all this new information, that appears to be so logical, will cause Yarrow to see me in a different light.  I needed these tools.  I've got high hopes that the yard barking and so-so recall will improve now.

I  was amazed when watching those videos... the games the dogs play with controlling their food.  It was crazy to see a dog barking for his food dish but then when Dan controlled the food and did "gesture eating" over the bowl, the dog refused the food put down for him.  What mind games these pooches play!  That blew my mind.

It just goes to show that dogs are the masters at studying and reading us and we larger-brained humans are now beginning to catch up to our canine friends.  It's awesome to find a handful of so called dog experts when the world is jam-packed with canine 'human experts'.  They've had us pegged from the beginning. :)

Thank  you so much for airing this so we all could view it. I missed it live but got it on the replay! . I found a lot of what Dan saying helpful but I am not into the "pack-leader" thing.  We are not dogs and dogs know this.  We are not part of his pack nor would he want us to be.

I do get up and see why my six dogs are barking and tell them "Thank you" and they do stop barking.  My family thinks I am nuts! So it was nice hearing someone else saying what I was doing was right!

It's funny about a month ago I bought a long tether from "PetEdge" to train my dogs to come when called!  I am going to do what Dan said with the treats. Most of my dogs do come when called but I have two that have a mind of their own. When the other dogs are with them, the poor things don't know whether to listen to me or go with the two ring leaders! I am hoping the tether will help with this!

Again, Thank you for putting this together! <3

So much good info! I am so glad to see positive reinforcement techniques!

Thank you for for all your hard work pulling this webinar together. I watched it and enjoyed it a few days after the live feed. I found it informative and Doggie Dan adorable and fun to watch and listen to. I like his style. What I really got out of this webinar is that I have to be The Leader which doesn't come easily to me. I'm already working on it and seeing some results. You two did a great job and made it fun.

I am not very tech savy and my connection was slow so I spent some time watching the little pinwheel . . . that was frustrating but it was worth a little aggravation.  I really enjoyed it and as another member said I didn't even notice the backgrounds, etc.  His methods were interesting and the webinar was informative.  And it was FREE.  What is there to complain about????   Thank you so much for offering this.  I will definitely try out some of the techniques.
