I'm going to miss my doodle

Tomorrow we leave for a two week vacation overseas, without our Yogi :-(
We planned this trip last April before he was even born. I know we'll have a fantastic time,
but we are already missing him. It's like leaving a child.
He is staying at my SIL's home, who adores him, and he her.
This is harder than I thought would be, am I being silly or do you guys feel
this way?

You're not alone!  First time we boarded Oliver I cried after I dropped him off.  Second time was a little easier.  These are our babies - it's ok to miss them!

I am planning a two week trip over to England next spring to see my family. This will be the first trip of any length that I will be away from my two LDs since my husband and I separated (I got custody of the dogs). I have a wonderful sitter, so I know the dogs will be ok. But, I am stressing about it already - and it is still a year away!!

Thanks for everyone's comments. We are in copenhagen, Denmark now. Cool city!
Leaving Yogi was hard but I didn't cry. I think it was made easier because I think he will be happy.
It's funny though, DH keeps bringing him up, "Yogi is with the dog walker now", "Yogi is getting ready to eat now"
