How much to pay pet sitter

We have someone watching our dogs this weekend while we are out of town. This is the first time we have done this, so keep your fingers crossed that all is well. I worry so much about my girls...

The caretaker is a teen, and she will come for 4 visits a day. We asked her rate, and she said whatever you think. We don't have a clue. Any suggestions?

When we are out of town and our sitter stays at our house she charges $70.00 a day.  If we are gone for a day she charges $25.00 for each 45 minutes she is with Libby.  Those visits include walking, playing or just hanging out with her.  She is wonderful with Libby and Libby is crazy about her.  The only problem is she is extremely booked and we have to plan our out of town visits with her calendar!  LOL

When Gracie was little I had her trainer stay in the house a few times.  She charged $50 a day and took Gracie with her to all the sessions she was doing.  Gracie was the dog she used at the end of a session to socialize the new pups.  Now that I think about it, she should have been paying Me!  

When I sent Gracie to a Dog Ranch in our mountains we paid $37 a day.  We really liked the ranch until she got fox tails in her paws and needed surgery.

We now have a sister of a friend who is 60 come stay in our house.  We pay her $50 a day.  She walks Gracie twice a day and plays ball with her in the backyard.  I think the going rate seems to be $50 if they are staying in your home.

The vet tech that works for our vet becomes our house and pet sitter when we are out of town. She moves in and stays at our house during any hours that she isn't at work. She charges $50.00 per day. With 8 critters at our house, beats a per animal charge for boarding. Also allows us to actually travel a bit because I would not board my babies. Right now, we are traveling in our Motorhome. The boys think it is a "tough life"!
