First grooming

Hi All-

My 5 1/2 month old ALD is having his first grooming on Weds. I am soooo happy because he is black and his coat has become very long and shaggy, and he is hot and uncomfortable. Would anyone be willing to pass along photos of a good puppy summer cut so I can show the groomer what I want. Although my puppy is shaggy on top I have trimmed the hair around his eyes and what is under his puppy coat is very curly and he looks curly on his body when I pick up the shaggy top coat, so I think he will be curly all over once cut. Following!!! We're almost ready for our first groom. She is only 3.5 months, but she can barely see!

I have had to trim the "bangs" around Hugo's eyes. I've done it twice and we still cannot really see his eyes. If the wind is blowing just right we can get a glimpse! I can't wait to see what he looks like with eyes!!!

I may be biased, but I really love the clip I did on Ragley. It kept her looking shaggy, while still trimming off the old hair and getting her down to a more manageable length. I used a 5/8" comb on her belly, 1" comb on her body, and scissor-finished legs and face. The hair grows SO quickly! Only a month and a half later and I am already thinking of trimming down her legs some more.

Hi we have an almost 6 month old black mini ALD labradoodle who had her first grooming about 2 weeks ago. I told the groomer that we wanted to keep her fluffy but wanted to be able to see her eyes. They ended up taking her to a 2-3 inch length which was just perfect. She did look a bit different on the first day because her fur was so straight from the wash dry brush and cut. But after a day her hair was back to the wavy fleece fur we love.
