Hi, everyone! My husband and I just welcomed the sweetest Goldendoodle 'Hudson' into our home last week. He joins Lola, our 5 year old Bulldog. In one short week, I have absolutely, without a doubt, fallen in love with this gentle, sweet baby.

I look forward to learning from all of you doodle experts. Being an experienced Bulldog mom, I know high maintenance firsthand, but am new to the world of grooming. I'm sure there is a lot for me to read regarding that on this forum.

Welcome to the best website around for doodle lovers everywhere.  You have taken on the best challenge.  She will be so much fun for your whole family.  Don't worry about grooming yet as it will be a while before you need to groom her, but do get her used to being handled in a "grooming way".  She needs to get used to having her feet handled and checking between her pads, her ears and eyes cleaned, and brushing with different types of brushes (including tooth brushes).  They usually love to be brushed.  Get her used to the dryer when you give her a bath.  So brush, bathe, and handle her a lot.  Whether or not you will be doing her grooming yourself, it is important that she get used to being handled by the person who is going to be grooming her.  My doodles all have loved being groomed and we have always done our own grooming.

Seeing as though I'm a hairstylist, hopefully I can figure out Hudson's grooming. You're right- he loves to be brushed. When I get the brush out, he rolls right over!
