Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi Doodle Experts! I am hoping you have some insight on an issue we are having with Rooster- our sweet 5 month old F1 goldendoodle. He is mostly potty trained- but in the last few weeks, we have noticed that he is peeing while he walks! He isn't stopping at all, so it makes these long swirling lines across the carpet- not fun to clean up!! We find drips in the kitchen and across rooms- like he is leaking??? When I scold him, he sulks- but I am not that hard on him because it really seems like he can't control it?? He KNOWS to go outside- We just recently had a loose stool issue and took him to the vet last week- nothing was discovered- and we just took a urine sample in on Saturday but are still awaiting results. Any ideas???

Hi there! He actually does it very randomly! And when he goes outside, he pees all in one spot- not a walking pee! We are keeping him on a leash again when he is active to try to see if it is a housebreaking issue- he didn't do it at all last night, but that is the first night in a few weeks now. I will definitnely post the results of the urine test!! And I really appreciate everyone's input!!!
UPDATE! I just received the results of the urinalysis- the vet read it as normal, but she did mention his ph was slightly elevated. She said she isn't alarmed by a single reading of higher ph- but if this was a long term issue, he could be at higher risk for bladder issues and stones. She also offered another antibiotic if his problem was continuing (different than the one he initially took)- but I declined since we haven't had any more leaking in 5 nights now. She said he could have had some sort of irritation from the neuter, but there was just no clear diagnosis, and it was very strange for a male puppy to leak urine. At this point, I am hopeful that maybe it was an excitement issue, and maybe we are past it??!! Will let you know if anything changes! Thank you all!!!
Fingers crossed that the problem has resolved itself!
