Archie came back from his yearly check up and round of shots yesterday and hes as healthy as it gets!! Wahoo! But our Vet did recommend us getting a good Dental Chew for Archie (He has a little plaque build up which is typical), but to stay away from any of the greenies and "popular" chews because they're usually high in fat and calories and you just end up with a big fat puppy. With that said, I was wondering if someone could give me some guidance/recommendations on some healthy dental chews that are good for removing Archie's slight plaque.
Thanks!
Sam

Lots of Food Group members have had good luck with the Paragon Dental Chews, which are FG approved for ingredients and sourcing: http://www.paragondogchewsusa.com/dog_chews/animal_shapes.aspx
This is a great question as I never really thought about the bad ingredients in the dental chews. Just bought my first bag of greenies, but always gave Maggie Dentastix (bought at the grocery store).
I am going to try the paragon chews!
Virbac Animal Health — C.E.T.® Enzymatic Oral Hygiene Chews for Dog...
These are sold at both of the vets' offices that we use. I can't vouch for the ingredients, but both of my dogs like them.
Chewy.com has the Paragon brand chews. We are trying some with our next Fromm order from them. The Paragon website that Karen gave above is very helpful to determine what product would be best for your pups.
The Paragon chews are one of Enz's favorites. She gets one a week...in fact gnawing one at my feet now. Amazon sells them too....( don't forget to us the DK link! ;) )
Lots of people love the whimzees, but Ragley won't even go near them so I'd suggest maybe picking one up to try before ordering a big bag of them.
Good advice. My local pet supply stores sell them individually.
Thank you all for your help...I may go with the Paragon dental chews. I am going to try a few out.
