Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello Everyone,

We are new to the group and recently relocated from Sacramento to Huntington Beach this month. We are so amazingly excited to be in So. Cal and near the beach. Was wondering if there are any events going on this weekend. My Dodger is a 16 month old very energetic and loving Goldendoodle. We are looking for events and dog parks to have him play in. He's had a rough couple weeks as we have been unpacking and adjusting so he hasn't had any real furry friend interaction for a couple of weeks aside from our other two dogs. Unfortunately my baby girl Maggie cannot come outside yet as she has not had her last set of vaccines (but that takes place in a week YIPPEE).

Welcome Missy!  I'm not sure if there is any formal doodle romp planned for this weekend, but I'm sure my pups would be happy to romp with Mr. Dodger at Arbor Dog park in Seal Beach.  It is right off of the 405 and Seal Beach Blvd. on Lampson Ave.  Nice big park with grass and water fountains, and plenty of random doodles come and go.  I'll have to check my schedule, but you can e-mail me at gwyngm@gmail.com to set up a time.  Maybe a few other locals will jump in to welcome Mr. Dodger, too.

Welcome. We could most likely be available, Josie needs an updated rabies in the morning but the afternoon or early evening is free. We were there last Saturday too! nice grassy dog park.

Which doodle is Maggie and which is Mr. Dodger?  Your apricot one looks a lot like Kona, who is a large miniature Double Doodle (half GD and half Australian Labradoodle).  Pretty flippin' adorable!

Maggie is the little white one with brown on her face. She can't play yet cuz her last set of shots will be on Friday July 18. Dodger is the bigger tan one. He's super friendly , playful and lovable. He LOVES the water.
We'd love to have a play date Saturday evening at Seal Beach. We are pretty open to time since we are still getting our bearings to our new home and neighborhood.

The park closes at dusk, so we should probably do a little earlier than "evening".  Jolene and Missy:  How about around 2 PM ish?  I'll check with Paul to see if he can swing that too.

Missy:  It's not the easiest park to find because it's an odd little left turn in the middle of nowhere off of Lampson, so it's best if you have a GPS with you.  There is a tiny little sign that says Arbor Park just about 20 ft before you will make that left turn.

Just a heads up that my 30 pound white Maggie is assertively playful and likes to chase and tackle and wrestle.  She doesn't hurt dogs or people, but she has surprised and scared a few.  Fortunately in our little doodle world in southern california, there are 3 or 4 who love to wrestle just as much, so it all works at well.  When Maggie and Nimbus get going, you can't tell where one dog  begins and the other ends since they have the same hair and same little patches of pale peach on their white bodies.  Kona is much more interested in the human laps he can find, or in refereeing the wrestling matches.

Look forward to meeting you all!

Lol, then there's Sassparilla so hyperfocused on the ball she doesn't realize there are other dogs in the park!

So is 2 PM good for you on Saturday, Jolene?  I was going to mention Sassy's addiction to the ball, but didn't want to give her a complex. We all love her anyway!  And Maggie will chase it with her a few times.  Kona just waits for them to bring it back for inspection and stealing.

no complex, she's a proud ball addict! Lol. Two is good for me, we'll see you then.

By the way....after all of the confusion the last few days trying to reach people to save that gorgeous doodle in Orange County, I just wanted to share my e-mail here in case someone needs to reach me quicker.
