I ended up taking him to the vet two days after... turns out he broke his toe! Poor guy. He's on pain medication and the vet is just letting it heal naturally. It's been exactly a week today that this happened, and hes running around as if nothing is wrong. I'm wondering if maybe they misdiagnosed him, because he does not seem to be in any pain lol. But i'm happy he's okay and it was nothing worse.

Ouch that sounds sooo painful. Poor guy. I'm glad he's doing better! I ended up taking him to the vet two days after... turns out he broke his toe! Poor guy. Hi Nikki ~ Our Charlie ran to the door to meet my husband and by the time he came around the counter in the kitchen he was limping and crying. Of course it was a Friday night! He laid around all night and the next day, but seemed a little better, but did not put weight on that leg. I took him into his vet on Monday morning and after examination, she said he either cracked or broke his outer toe on the left hind leg. She recommended letting him rest for a few days, and if he did not start using it by Friday, she would x-ray for a break. Two days after injuring it, he gingerly started using it and by Friday and was walking great and wanting to play ball. We went to the vet for a check up on Friday anyway and he was ok with her examining the sore toe area, so she gave him an ok to start playing. We were so relieved.!
Since you were outside, I wonder if he stepped on a wasp, or something! I would not encourage him to walk, let him take it easy and if he is not better by Monday, get him in to your vet asap. I hope he feels better soon.
I'm glad he's okay! Funny thing is that is exactly what happened to Charlie. I took him to the vet two days later and she xrayed his foot... he also broke his outer toe on the left hind leg lol. However it's been 5 days since the vet visit and he's running around and not walking. I might call the vet next week and see if she will recheck him, because she said to keep him quite for a whole month!! It's been a week of no walks and he's going crazy lol.
