Hi,
Rippley is almost five months old now, and we switched him to two meals per day recently. This switch is probably unrelated, as he has often been disinterested in breakfast from the start. But, since now we are only feeding him twice, it does concern me more. He regularly eats a bite or so, then walks away. The pup looks good weight-wise, and loves his dinner (same food as breakfast) - so why is he not a breakfast eater?
Is this normal/ok, or unhealthy? It doesn't seem behavioral, but maybe...we do not free feed. Should we switch to feeding lunch and dinner, perhaps? Any suggestions or experiences like this? Thank you!

He must be related to me, I've never been a breakfast eater, either.

I wouldn't be concerned, as long as he is a good weight and is active. Maybe he'll start to feel like eating breakfast once he adjusts to getting only two meals per day.

One thing I've found with all of my dogs is that they're more inclined to eat if you keep them company at mealtimes. When JD is having his breakfast, he'll actually stop eating if I walk out of the room, and he's one who loves his meals. So if you're not already doing so, maybe sit down nearby and have some coffee or breakfast yourself while Rippley has his.

It's normal. My puppy was 6 mos and she is slowing down. I feed her 2 times a day. She eats more at dinner then breakfast-lunch. Now she is 9 mos old and still same.
Penny, now 18 months old, is not a breakfast eater. She very seldom eats much during the day & eats most of her food early evening. I have tried to get her to change her eating habit but she reverts back to this schedule. Some days she doesn't finish her bowl but she maintains her ideal weight despite her strange eating schedule & varied amounts.
She is a free feeder & that is fine. It's just the way she likes it.
Nothing to worry about, it's just the way they like it.
Luca sometimes eats breakfast by lunchtime, occasionally at breakfast time. But often I just add dinner to his breakfast portion and he eats most if not all of it.

We all eat breakfast about the same time, but Beau generally just takes a few bites and then lays on the floor by Charlie's feeding station and watches Charlie eat!  When Charlie walks away, Beau eats what is left.  I just leave Beau's breakfast bowl on his feeding station and when we sit down at lunchtime, he munches all of his breakfast! Go figure.

Great to hear. Thanks, all!
