Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

We were given a rehomed goldendoodle. She Is 2 years old and I'm curious about her coat? She Is shaved right now but it is long enough to see and obvious wave on most of her body. However, the hair on her head is very short? I'm wondering if that is normal because we were looking forward to the shaggy long haired look. Also I am trying to add pictures but am new to this site and am unsure how to do it. TIA!

I'm guessing they shaved her head when they shaved the rest of her, but without photos, it's hard to tell.

The previous owners didn't have any photos of her with her coat grown out?

Mary, When you add a picture, you need to click on the box to the right of the link box in the reply field. It should bring you to a screen where you browse for your file and then add. I am so glad you decided to help this girl out and truly her personality is so much more important than her look. From the profile picture, I do see waves in her hair. I am betting they shaved her head too, but try to add some photos.

Here's a detailed illustrated explanation of how to add photos: http://www.doodlekisses.com/notes/index/show?noteKey=Inserting_Phot....

It all grows out, and probably faster than you would want.  I do all my own grooming and there are just some reasons it is a good idea to shave them down.  My first doodle actually scared a runner because he was so hairy and huge.  I shaved him down.  Now that she is in your home, you will see the true dog emerge before long.  Thank you for taking her in and giving her a good home.  BTW, goldendoodles are the best!

Your profile pic doesn't really tell me anything about what she might look like when grown out, sorry.  Maybe you can take and post a couple pictures of her facing front.

Mary, you can also go to the top of the main page under the Doodle Kisses logo, and click on photos. Then click on the +ADD box on the right at the top. If you are trying to post pics from your phone or email, send them to 3bhmta6b20y3s643871681@d… I hope this made sense. Enjoy your new friend.

She is beautiful, but she is not going to have that shaggy long-haired look you were hoping for. She will have the long, wavy coat, but she did not get the gene for the facial furnishings, as the beard, mustache, shaggy eyebrows, etc are called, and has what is called an "open face". That's not going to change.

You may want to join the "Where's the Poodle in My Doodle" group, where there are lots of others whose doodles look like Jayma. Thank you for rescuing her, which is really what you did. She deserves a loving home like yours.

I was also going to suggest the 'Where's the Poodle in my Doodle' group!! She is a very goldeny looking golden doodle!'
I agree.
She is indeed a beautiful doodle. Looks like she might have a wavy coat, but no furnishings on her face.
You both are lucky to have found each other!

She is very similar to our Meg, although Meg is a labradoodle.  Meg fell out more on the Lab side, she gets fluffy hair between her eyes, a bit of furnishings around her muzzle,  her back is wavy and rough but not as soft and curly looking as yours and her tail is straighter than your cutie.  Turns out they still get all the personality and love no matter the looks.
