Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello! I have an 11 month old female Goldendoodle. Unfortunately, I do not have an information on how big her parents are. I know that Doodles can vary greatly in size but I was wondering how much your dog grew after a year? Lulu only weighs 30 lbs (and has gained less than 5 lbs since May). I have heard some people say their dog didn't grow a lot after a year and others who said their dog really filled out then. We like her size now but she is pretty skinny.

Thanks!

If Lulu is 30 pounds at a year and has gained only 5 since may, I think she has reached her adult size.  'Skinny' is actually better for the dog than overweight, and remember if they have a more 'poodle' type build, they are going to seem skinnier.

I would agree with Nancy. She may out on another lb or two, but she's basically there. Enzo too, has a very poodley body. She is just 47 lbs, at 15 mos. Her Golden Mom was 50 ish and Poodle Dad was around 65
Yet she stayed on the smaller side. At 11 months, she was 45lb

So, you do know her weight at four months?  That old adage of double the weight at four months and then add a few pounds really seems to be accurate with these dogs.  It has worked with my doodles.  Goldendoodles are the greatest!

My golden doodle is almost two and is 47 lbs, she is very slim, but she's ultra active (very high strung). When she is shaved I see how slim she is and I worry, but the vet says she's perfectly fine. My Berne doodle is 7 months and 54 pounds, but she has a different build because she is half Bernese Mt. Dog, she has a more broad figure with shorter legs. Your Lulu will gain a few pounds as she gets older, but it may be awhile, if your vet gives her a clean bill of health you just have a petite little lady.
