Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello,

I'm 32 years old, living in Germany and actually I study social work. I'm mother of 3 children. One girl and two boys. They are 9, 7 and 4 years old. My Husband is younger than me, he is 28 years old. He cares for the children and the household.

Since 10 weeks, we have an new member of our family, our flatdoodle Aiko. He ist a doodle from the f1b generation. His mother is a flatdoodle too and his father is a poodle in standard size. Actually, Aiko is five month old and 22 inch high.

I found my way to this community with google. In german i have not found any forum about doodle. So I have to train my english, and here I can do it. :D

My husband corrects my texts, but I hope you are can forgive me my bad english. I have to learn a lot in this language.

Welcome, Silvia! Doodlekisses is a great place to learn/share about doodles. There are many groups that you can join. For example, there are groups for grooming, nutrition, health/medical, types of doodles, puppy groups etc. Enjoy! Your English is fine - we got what you meant.

Glad you found this site.  I'm always impressed that someone speaks more than one language since I can't.  I'm on my 20th dog but first labradoodle.  She is entering her energetic stage.  The other dogs look pleadingly at me to make her settle down.  If she comes inside they want out.  She is so sweet though.  She loves the morning back rubs.

It will be interesting to know how you get along with your doodle.

Thank you both :)

Aiko has a lot of energy. We have to take long walks, with training to make him tired.  We train with the dummy since 3 Weeks, because Retriver and Poodle are huntingdogs (call it so?). His mother chases ducks and chickens and I don't want that Aiko does it as well.

I do not know how it is called in english, in german it is called Dummy-Training. With Dummies like this:

I shroud the dummy, my dog searches for it and brings it back to me.

Aiko has a lot of fun with this activity. Our trainer says that he learns very fast.

Hallo Silvia!

What a nice surprise to find another German doodle owner on here. I could most certainly write in German, but then the rest of the people wouldn't have a clue what's going on.

I am 49, living just outside of Dachau (near Munich). I moved to Germany in Aug 2011 with my cat Bino and my labradoodle Jerry. Jerry died very suddenly 2 weeks ago. He was 11 years old.

All those three years I have been trying to find other doodle owners in Germany. For whatever reason, there are no doodle groups in Germany. You hardly see doodles. Suddenly I see your post on doodle kisses, but it is a bit late for me, I suppose. Anyway, I am still glad to have found you. Although I am still in pain over Jerry's death, crying a lot, missing him every single day, we are looking for a doodle from a rescue organization right now. I can't be without a dog, especially where we live.

Where did you get your doodle? From a breeder? And most importantly: where in Germany do you live? Wo wohnst Du?
