I am currently using Nexgard on Willow. I was having issue with the topical treatments making her really lethargic. I also tried the Seresto flea/tick collar, which I actually didn't mind, but it really matted her around her neck. So my vet said to try the Nexgard and see how that works. It was super easy to give it to her cause she thought it was a treat, so far I have not had any problems, but it has only been the first month. I just wish there was a way to prevent fleas and ticks without giving them medicine for it. The one groomer I used said to spray the dog with lemon water every week, but I am not sure if that would work.
Winnie has been using Nexgard since April. She goes for frequent runs in high grasses/wooded areas, and doggy daycare 3 times a week. It seems to be working well as I have yet to find a tick or flea on her! She was noted to have slightly elevated liver enzymes before her spay surgery this summer. But, the vet didn't think it was from the Nexgard (or Heartgard that she also is on) as the levels went back down to normal despite continuing the medication.
