With the craziness of life, I've come to appreciate the funny things that Riley does which make us laugh. For example...

The other night she was sprawled out on her back, legs up in the air, looking like she was playing dead. My husband (whom she adores) called her over and even offered her a treat. Riley never flinched. I said "treat" and she flipped over on all four within a second and was at our side in a flash.

If I sprinkle water on her nose she will squat down, squint her eyes and jump up trying to catch the water in her mouth. She does the same with snow.

She has waged a war against various household items including the vacuum, tension rods, electric toothbrush and blow dryer. Too bad she is a chicken in all cases.

What are the funny things your doodles do that make you laugh?

Haha... My Orwell also like to sprawl out on his back and nap. :) I am constantly amazed at how flexible he is. He can lay on his side and grab the tip of his tail.

Other than that, he makes me laugh when he carries his towel blank on his bed out to the front room to his other bed. He also rearranges his bed to the spot that he wants it that particular day.

I also particularly enjoy the dinner dance he does when I walk towards the cabinet. It is much more elaborate than my precious dog's jumpy excitement at dinner. I tried getting a video of it last night to show you all, but he was a little more sedate yesterday because of his 12 week shots. He does a similar dance if I go away for a couple of hours and come back. He doesn't do that for anyone else, so it makes me feel special.

His smarts also make me laugh. Already, he is the smartest dog I have met. He knows when he is being talked to, and he will readily talk back. His personality matches mine. He will only be super friendly towards a new person if I know them well. Otherwise, he doesn't show any enthusiasm when meeting someone new and just watches them... which makes me wonder why he took to me right away. He was definitely the one that picked me. He also loves home. On our walks, he knows the shortest way home and if we pass the intersection, he will let out a little sound of protest.

I find it so funny when they seem to do things with such thought like how Orwell does with his towel and bed. Riley will all of a sudden go to a different room and come back with a toy. Did she go in there for that purpose or just found it on her travels?

I wish Riley was like Orwell with people. New or old friends/family...young or old...Riley is over the top excited to see everyone.

Another one that makes me laugh is how she really looks like she is trying to understand me. Big brown eyes looking questioningly. Just today she was pacing which is her sign she needs to go out. She finally came into the office where I was at and stood at the door, with her head tilted, as if to say "hey, what are you doing. I want to go out. Aren't you paying attention?" I wish I understood if they had thoughts and what they are.

More than once Winnie has responded to a scolding by just sitting quietly and then letting out a big burp! :-)  It's almost like she is telling me "OK, OK, lighten up, Mom!"

When she was little, we used to put a box inside the back of her kennel so as to make the kennel smaller. Every night she would wiggle her way to the back of the kennel by moving the box to the front. It would cause a lot of commotion and we would laugh and say that she was "rearranging her furniture."

This one is more heartwarming than silly... She is definitely a "shoe girl,"and we have really been working with her on the "Drop!" command. A couple of nights ago she decided to try AGAIN to take one of my husbands shoes from the entryway up to the family room for further inspection. I caught her halfway up the stairs and told her "Drop." Instead of dropping the shoe right then and there, she took it back to where she got it and dropped it next to the other shoe! Awwww.... now that's worth a couple more treats!! My baby is starting to grow up.......

That's hilarious!  So well trained :)

Yes, the burp is hysterical! Taking the shoe back is adorable and smart!

Riley sounds so cute.  The more doodles I meet, the more they make me laugh with the way they figure things out.  Finn is an "only" doodle and he's always trying to get the cat to play.  His heart's desire is for the cat to chase him (never going to happen).  So he figured out a game.  When she's perched on her chair, he'll go bug her, bopping her gently with his nose.  When she bops him back with her paw, he'll run around the house like a monster is after him.  Then he comes back and the game starts again.  This can go on and on until I say, "Children stop it!!" :)

It's funny how they come up with their own games and they do it as play not mean. Riley is an only too (just like me). She will toss or drop her toy, stare at it for a second (as if it going to move) then she'll pounce on it. Then do it all over again. Often she'll place a toy gently on my lap then stand back and quietly stare at me. If I don't engage, she will grab the toy and go off on her own. Adding a cat in the mix would certainly add some excitement. :-)

So many funny doodle antics!  Love reading them all.

Quincy also drags his blanket around- a big sheep skin mattress cover that he appropriated.  Never know where it will be next- upstairs or down.

I think dragging a blanket is so cute. Just like a little kid. I find it interesting that when I get home toys have been moved to different rooms. Is it like where I leave a trail items wherever I go or is she deliberately leaving them in these places. Hmmm...
