Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Welcome to puppy madness! I think it would be a great idea to all post a little about yourself and your doodle. Photos are ALWAYS welcome.

Thinks you might want to share:

1) Your Name/Doodle Name

2) Location

3) Doodle type (goldendoodle/labradoodle; mini/standard; F1/F2)

4) Doodle age/weight

5) Photo

6) Anything else

Would also be great to come back here as your doodle ages to respond to your comment and post updates for age/weight/photos etc.

Hi Fiona,

My aussidoodle also thinks my 11 yo son is a chew toy when he tries to play with her and she gets all excited.  I tell him not to lie on the floor ( she just jumps on him ) and when she is biting, he should yelp loudly, and walk out of the room while kicking his legs backwards (bending at the knees) to prevent her from getting at his calves.

Have you tried putting a harness and leash on him? Put him on a leash when he acts like that with your daughter and hand her the leash. Have her stretch her arm out so he can't reach her and have her calmly but firmly say no and demand a sit. Let him out to run before school gets out though. If you do this for a good hour, include walking and sits and then a few minutes everyday for a couple of weeks, you will have two very happy souls.
Thanks to you all for your suggestions - this site is a godsend. Thanks to all of your advice we are making progress. I'm doing instensive bite inhibition traning sessions while the kids are at school and I'm making sure he's a bit knackered when the kids get home. We're not there yet, but there have been improvements. Quick question - is gentle mouthing ok? Vet told me during the week that because of the kids I need to really exaggerate my yelp the minute I feel his teeth on my skin or clothes no matter how soft it is? Would you guys agree with this?
I am Suzy Rowe from Oxnard, CA. I just adopted a 2 month old male goldendoodle from the Ventura County Animal Shelter. Can't pick up the puppy until Wednesday because they are requied to spat before releasing any animal. So I have been preparing the house and buying supplies. Also arranged for Vet visit and puppy classes.
Today while buying food and cheese, I saw the most humongous beef bone imagineable, and thought ... If I were a doodle I would sure want to chew on that! Guess that makes me a certifiable doodle nut! Of course, I bought that bone.

Cute pup! Glad that he has a home with you though it is difficult to imagine how a puppy like this ends up in the animal shelter.

So funny that you bought the bone. It's probably half the puppy's size!

So precious!!!!!

Congrats!!

Brought Ruffie home today from the animal shelter. They had just spayed him, and he has the cone on to keep him from getting at the stitches. His fur is badly matted, not sure what to do until the cone comes off. Can't bathe him until the stitches heal. Will see the Vet tomorrow .

Ruffles is beautiful! Enjoy!
Ruffie didn't pea or poop at all yesterday or last night. Concerned. I moved the Vet appointment to today. Going to run some coconut oil into the mats. Might help the hair and the skin. He can't eat easily with the cone, so will hand feed.
He actually slept very well last night ... no crying.
He finally pooped, so I got the doodle doo detail. Much stinkier than the Yorkie's was.
Vet gave a clean bill of health. He thought Ruffie was closer to four months than two. He still has puppy teeth and puppy coat.
He is 12.4 pounds at about 3 and a half months. Can anyone make an educated guess at how big he might get? I have no idea. From the picture, can anyone tell if he is more poodle than golden in appearance? I am learning about goldendoodles as I go, and his forum is a godsend.
Yeah, I was going to say he looked much older than 8 weeks. Enzo at 15 weeks was 20.5 lbs. and at 1 year, she is 49 lbs. so I'm guessing your little one will not be too big. But who knows??? The coat...LOL...it changes almost constantly! Even now, Enzo has started changing to a darker color! Her coat has gone back and forth from puppy fuzz to a more coaster coat, at least 3 times!
However he turns out...he sure is a cutie!
